You set aside time (or you don’t) and you really try. But after a while you notice that it keeps slipping out of your schedule. And really, why is it so confusing? Why are there so many different kinds of meditation? Are you supposed to be emptying your mind, or sending loving thoughts to everyone? Do you need to sit cross-legged? Are you allowed to open your eyes? What do you do if your nose starts itching?
If only there was a way to start a REAL meditation practice quickly and easily, without all the confusing jargon that seems to come with other programs.
That’s all it takes to start a meditation practice. It’s about the same time you take to make a egg salad sandwich, or go through the mail, or drink a cup of coffee. It’s hardly any time at all – EVERYONE can find 8 minutes in a day, even if it means they wake up 8 minutes earlier or go to bed 8 minutes later. It’s hardly noticeable, yet it’s all you need to be able to say,
“Why yes, I have a meditation practice”
And by completing this course you will be able to say just that. You will have meditated quite painlessly for 336 minutes! You have an experienced meditator guiding you and answering your questions. Finally, you will receive an MP3 of each week’s course, including the weekly meditation.
Each week you will be led into a different 8-minute meditation derived from one of the many wisdom schools. You will practice that weekly meditation for ONLY EIGHT MINUTES each day for one week . We will do everything from “watching our breath” to “intentional meditation” to “movement meditation”. By the end of the 6 weeks you will have experienced 6 different types of meditation and will have a great feeling about which one is right for you.
Excellent! You can keep up your original meditation practice and still allocate 8 minutes a day to learn a few new types of meditation. Who knows? You may find something you enjoy more and breathes life into your already established practice.
If you’re reading this far, you likely have the idea that meditation is very good for you. And it’s true. Scientific studies on meditation have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that the practice has a number of positive health and mood effects.
In particular, meditation can reduce stress, lower blood pressure, reduce depression and anxiety, guard against dementia and heart disease, and reduce pain. Meditators have a greater ability to concentrate and focus. They show more activity in the centers of their brain that regulate empathy, sense of self, stress reduction and memory. In just 8 weeks, meditators also show increased grey matter in the area of their hippocampus, an area important for learning and memory.
As if that weren’t enough, many studies show the intuitive abilities of meditators to be far superior to those of people who don’t meditate. For those of you who work with others, this is a valuable asset to cultivate and is part of every intuitive person’s basic toolkit. Meditation actually physically changes the structure of the brain and does so quickly with very little practice. A few minutes a day are enough to make a difference. It is the consistency, not the quantity.
If these benefits sound good to you, and you sometimes struggle to keep a meditation practice going, you owe it to yourself to give this course a try. It’s practically painless, inexpensive, and you keep accountable by going through the program with me by your side! Sign up today and for just $67, you can receive the following:
“The benefits of meditation have always intrigued me and made me yearn to start a “regular practice” however my attempts to get started on my own always ended up being foiled by the seemingly more fascinating idea of cleaning the lint out of the dryer and liking cat photos on Facebook. (OK, I don’t actually like cats all that much but you get the point). Honestly the thought of sitting in silence with myself for 20 minutes or so felt daunting and highly uncomfortable. Enter Kirsten Cameron; her gentle approach, delicious humor, and insightful teaching strategies got me excited to actual sit down and give it a whirl. I highly recommend taking any class that Kirsten offers as her wisdom and guidance have been an integral part of my meditation and coaching journey.” ~ Lori Race
“Over the years I tried and tried to meditate, only to feel like a failure as I couldn’t keep up a regular practice. Facing my own thoughts and sitting still felt like some kind of torture. I related to Anne Lamott who once said, “My mind is like a bad neighborhood – I try not to go there alone.” Just when I was ready to call it quits, along came Kirsten Cameron. Kirsten taught me that there are many ways to meditate. She opened doors for me and led me compassionately through guided meditations and gave me amazing tools that finally set me on the path for a regular practice. She held my hand through that bad neighborhood and the clouds parted and the light shone in. Now I use these tools daily. It has been nothing short of life altering for me and I am forever grateful for the kind and generous spirit in which she shepherded me to this new and wonderful practice, one that I now consider as important as brushing my teeth. And the best part of all is that “the neighborhood” that is my mind isn’t quite so scary anymore.” ~ Amy Williams
“Kirsten Cameron is an intuitive coach who can, quite simply, make you laugh and feel better all at the same time. She combines tools from her business background with her keen intuitive abilities to help you remain grounded, gain clarity and connect with your best life. If you want a coach who will provide a safe space for some laughter and inspiration, Kirsten is the coach for you.” ~ Dr. Martha Beck
